Community College Roundup : Glendale Wins Soccer Match
Glendale scored two goals in the final six minutes to defeat Golden West, 4-3, in a nonconference men’s community college soccer game Tuesday at Glendale.
Glendale, trailing 3-2, scored on free kicks with 5:49 and 2:59 to play to rally for the victory.
Andy Lough, Robert Howerton, and Pat Penners scored for the Rustlers.
Golden West (1-1) plays Mira Costa Friday at Golden West.
In water polo:
Orange Coast 11, Cerritos 7--Eric Keller scored three goals to lead Orange Coast College to a nonconference victory over Cerritos in a water polo match at Cerritos.
Mike Bunge and Karl Stewart added two goals apiece for the Pirates (1-0).
Orange Coast will plays in the 12-team Cuesta tournament in San Luis Obispo Friday and Saturday.
In volleyball:
Masters 3, SCC 1--Masters College of Newhall beat Southern California College in a nonconference volleyball match at SCC Tuesday, 15-6, 10-15, 15-8, 15-12.
SCC (0-5) will play host to Hawaii Pacific Thursday night at 7.
Masters College is 3-1.
