Parents Apply for Drug Program

Robert Dale Young and his wife, Judith, jailed last month after their daughter, Deanna, told police her parents used drugs, pleaded innocent to possession of narcotics this morning and received permission to apply to a drug diversion program.

If the Tustin couple successfully complete the program, charges will be dropped, under the agreement reached in Orange County’s Central Municipal Court. Deanna, 13, who was taken to an Orange County shelter for abused or abandoned children after she turned over to police drugs that she claimed belonged to her parents, has been allowed to return home. She was in school this morning and did not attend the court session.
