Lots of Steam Trains
Your readers might be interested to know that volunteers run more steam trains in Wales, Scotland and England all year than some countries of the world run. Britain’s steam trains are great fun and very inexpensive to ride. Journey times vary from a few minutes on some of Britain’s “fun trains” up to a couple of hours on major preserved lines that once belonged to British Rail. BP Oil Ltd. publishes a small guide to steam train rides in the British Isles. It is available from the British Tourist Authority, 350 S. Figueroa St., Suite 450, Los Angeles 90071.
