The 22nd annual Anaheim Sports, Vacation & RV Show will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center Jan. 3 through 11. Resort and lodge operators, outfitters, chambers of commerce and tourist office personnel will be on hand. Among the attractions will be a full-size reconstruction of a frontier town, an operating gold mine, an Indian powwow and a travel film festival. Doors will be open Saturday noon to 10 p.m., Sunday noon to 7 p.m. and Monday through Friday 2 to 10 p.m. Prices are $5.50 for adults, children 6 to 15, $2, and under 6 free. Garuda Indonesia airlines, the national carrier of Indonesia, has begun direct service between Los Angeles and Bali. The twice-weekly flights will depart Los Angeles on Fridays and Sundays at 10:30 p.m.

Bob Henry, a veteran in the travel industry, has joined GoingPlaces International as director of customer relations. The company, headed by Michael and Kendy Richards, specializes in smoothing the way for VIP clients through airport arrivals and departures. Henry, known as the dean of airport meet-and-greeters, will promote Going Places’ meet-and-greet service to retailers.

Western Airlines is offering its “Ski Stop” package for skiers traveling via its Salt Lake City connecting hub. Priced from $99 single or $59 per person, double, the package includes a Hertz rental car for 24 hours, skiing at one of eight nearby ski resorts and one night’s lodging. A 48-hour ski stop is also available at $199 single or $119 per person, double.
