Two Can Fly for Less

Share

An opportunity for air bargains often occurs when an airline starts promoting a hub.

For instance, Delta Air Lines has a new “companion fare” program supporting its Cincinnati hub. If you buy any fare except first-class to or from Cincinnati, including promotional fares, you can get a companion fare allowing the other person to fly for $50 one way and $100 round trip.

You can fly Los Angeles-Cincinnati-Boston on a round-trip basis for $258 and get a second round-trip ticket for $100.

Both passengers have to travel together on all segments. The companion fares apply until Feb. 5. Cincinnati-Atlanta flights are excluded from this program. Eastern cities included are New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, etc.

You have to take care of reservations and ticketing at least three days before departure, plus whatever conditions go with your particular ticket.
