NHL Roundup : Bellows’ Second Goal of Game Gives North Stars Overtime Win

Brian Bellows, playing for the first time since Dec. 20, scored his second goal of the game 1:05 into overtime Thursday night to lift the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-4 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at Bloomington, Minn.

Goals within a 1:23 span in the third period by Dirk Graham and Bellows, who missed the last eight games with a wrist injury, gave the North Stars a 4-2 lead.

The Sabres got even on goals in the last 4:04 of regulation by John Tucker and Dave Andreychuk.

Boston 4, Detroit 4--Ray Bourque’s second goal of the game with seven seconds left in regulation gave the Bruins a tie with the Red Wings at Boston.

The Bruins outshot Detroit, 18-4, in the third period and had an apparent tying goal by Greg Johnston disallowed before Bourque scored his 11th goal on a rebound.

Detroit took a 3-1 lead on first period goals by Gerard Gallant, Shawn Burr and Joe Kocur.

New Jersey 4, Quebec 4--Jan Ludvig scored a power-play goal with 3:29 left in regulation to give the Devils a tie with the Nordiques at East Rutherford, N.J.

The Nordiques got first-period goals from Anton Stastny, Peter Stastny and Jeff Brown, but the Devils answered with goals by Kirk Muller, Doug Sullivan and Mark Johnson in the second period.

Michel Goulet gave Quebec a 4-3 lead with his 23rd goal late in the second period.
