LINDA <i> EN ESPANO</i>

Luis Valdez’ stage production of “Corridos” is headed for PBS--with Linda Ronstadt, who is of German-Mexican descent and has performed locally with mariachi groups--performing one of the singing roles in Spanish.

Valdez’ musical tribute, based on popular ballads from Mexican tradition, will also feature ballerina Evelyn Cisneros (of the San Francisco Ballet), Valdez’ brother, Daniel Valdez, and writer-director Luis Valdez as narrator.

Taping will be done later this month at KQED in San Francisco.
