Ramos Knocks Out Daniels to Win Middleweight Bout

Share

Middleweight Alex Ramos, using a short right hand, knocked Ron Daniels out at 57 seconds of the third round of their scheduled 10-rounder to win Tuesday night’s main event at the Country Club in Reseda before a capacity crowd of 900.

It was the second time Daniels (10-4) was down in the short bout. An overhand right by Ramos late in the first round literally knocked Daniels off his feet. He came down hard, his neck smashing up against the ropes. The only surprise from then on was that Daniels lasted as long as he did.

Ramos of Downey improved his record to 26-5-2. It was the 21st knockout for the 162-pounder. Daniels, from Paso Robles, weighed 161 for the fight.
