Two versions of a steamy Revlon TV ad for its age-old fragrance “Intimate” have been rejected by NBC for being “too sexually suggestive,” a network spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal on Monday. The 30-second commercial, entitled “Intimate Party,” shows a man cooling off a woman by moving a piece of ice from her chin down to the top of her strapless dress, as she pulls his hand lower. That version was rejected by CBS, ABC and NBC, but was shown by some local TV stations. ABC and CBS did accept a less steamy version where the woman moved the man’s hand back toward her neck. Only NBC still said no.
