Will Perdue scored 14 points as defending champion United States beat Japan, 60-50, in the final round of the 11th William Jones Cup basketball tournament at Taipei, Taiwan.
The Americans, represented by Vanderbilt University, trailed 33-24 at halftime.
The U.S. leads the standings with a 3-0 record, followed by West Germany with 2-0, Taiwan’s Blue team at 2-1 and Australia with 1-1.
