Hasty Pasty Wins Feature at Del Mar
Hasty Pasty, ridden by Laffit Pincay, drew clear in the stretch and won by 3 1/2 lengths Monday in the $64,200 Sorrento Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Del Mar.
Lost Kitty, ridden by Chris McCarron, finished second. Torch The Track, ridden by Russell Baze, was third, another five lengths back in a field of six juvenile fillies.
The even-money favorite, Sheesham, stumbled badly at the start and lost her rider, Gary Stevens.
Hasty Pasty raced seven furlongs in 1:23 and earned $37,200. The daughter of Flying Paster is trained by John Gosden.
Sent off the 2-1 second choice, Hasty Pasty paid $6.20, $4 and $3. Lost Kitty returned $4.80 and $3, and Torch The Track paid $4.40 to show.
