The January celebration at Giants Stadium in honor of the New York Giants’ Super Bowl victory wound up costing $719,180, and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority paid part of the bill.
The authority raised $651,017 in donations for the party, which 45,000 fans attended despite 25-degree temperatures in East Rutherford, N.J.
Authority spokesman Paul Wolcott said that the deficit, about $68,000, was paid out of the agency’s budget. The authority recently finished calculating the costs.
The biggest expense was snow removal that was hampered by two heavy snowfalls just before the Jan. 27 bash. Wolcott put the cost at roughly $300,000.
