Long Beach : Drunk Driver Checks Begin

Share

In search of drunk drivers, police officers plan to stop motorists tonight at Long Beach’s first “safety checkpoint.” Police Cmdr. Charles Parks said officers will conduct at least one sobriety checkpoint after 6 p.m. somewhere south of Pacific Coast Highway. An exact spot for the roadblock had not been pinpointed.

After tonight, officers probably will conduct the next sobriety checkpoint closer to Christmas, Parks said. Upon stopping motorists, officers also plan to hand out safety information.
