College Highlights : Dixon Twins Help CSUN to 68-61 Win

Kathleen Dixon scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in only 26 minutes as Cal State Northridge defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills, 68-61, Saturday in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s basketball game at the Toro gym in Carson.

Northridge, which evened its overall record at 10-10, received 15 points and 6 rebounds from Dixon’s twin, Marianne.

The Lady Matadors, who shot 51%, are 4-2 in the CCAA. Dominguez Hills has won only 1 of 6 conference games and is 8-13 overall.

Devon Akita scored 17 points for the Lady Toros and Angel Wells added 14.

CLU 71, Southern California College 53--Sophomore Heidi Griffith scored a game-high 21 points and the Regals took advantage of 41 Southern California turnovers in the Golden State Athletic Conference game at Cal Lutheran.

Dani Elton added 12 points for the Regals (5-14, 3-4).

BASEBALL

Moorpark 11, Rio Hondo 4--Kevin Medeiros tripled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice and Ray Reynosa had two doubles and two runs batted in for host Moorpark in its opener.

Reynosa also walked twice and hit a sacrifice fly. Moorpark’s Eddie Hall was 3 for 5.

Dave Raper pitched seven innings to pick up the win.
