AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: Prince did more than just sign Three O’Clock to his Paisley Park record label. He also donated an unreleased song, “New Telephone,” which will appear on the album--with background vocals by ex-Prince mates, Wendy and Lisa. The album, titled “Vermillion,” is due out May 10. . . . We’re jealous--Dave Alvin is headed for Nashville next month, where he’ll record a duet of his “Every Night About This Time” with George Jones(!). The song is slated for an upcoming album, “George Jones and Friends Vol. II.” . . . Local faves the Wild Cards have signed with Chameleon Records--they’ll be heading into the studio this spring to make a new album. . . . Peter Gabriel is in his recording studio in Bath, England, where he’s producing a new album for Youssou N’Dour, the African percussionist who accompanied Gabriel on his last world tour. . . . Hall & Oates will be back May 3 with their Arista debut album, titled “Oh Yeah.” Songs include “Everything Your Heart Desires” (the first single), “Soul Love” and “Downtown Life.” . . . And from our Pop Eye Suggestion Box. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, but because one band is on Capitol Records while the other’s on Rhino (distributed by Capitol), wouldn’t be great to send House of Shock and House of Freaks on a club tour together? We’d call it the Full House tour.
