Paris designer Christian de Lenclos (above, right) paraded his avant-garde architectural designs at Le Meridien in Newport Beach on April 19. The benefit netted about $20,000 for the Sandpipers of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Candice Schnapp was chairwoman.
The benefit golf and tennis tournament sponsored by Westmed Gold Club on April 18 netted about $42,000 for the Nursing Learning Laboratory for Western Medical Center. Joleen Parham and Philip Anthony were co-chairmen.
The “Spring Kaleidoscope ‘88” luncheon/fashion show netted about $15,000 April 20 for the Big Canyon Philharmonic Committee. JoAnne Mix and Ollie Hill were co-chairwomen.
The “United Jewish Fund Community Dinner” on April 24 resulted in pledges of more than $300,000. Elaine Ornitz, Blossom Siegel and Lou Weiss were co-chairmen.
The “Gentlemen Start Your Wagons” road rally April 24 netted about $20,000 for Childrens Hospital of Orange County. Sylvia Burnett was chairwoman.
