Arizona St. Women Win Pac-10 Golf

Pam Wright of Arizona State led a record-breaking performance by the Sun Devils as they won their second straight Pacific 10 Conference women’s golf championship Wednesday.

Wright broke former Arizona State teammate Danielle Ammaccapane’s 72-hole mark of 294 by shooting a four-round score of 288, even par on the 6,017-yard course at Sahalee Country Club.

Arizona State’s Amy Fruhwirth, who set a single-round record with a 68 on Monday, finishedsecond at 294, followed by Pearl Sinn of Arizona State at 297.

As a team the Sun Devils shot a record of 1,173, eclipsing the 1,197 they set last year at Tucson. UCLA finished second at 1,230, followed by Washington at 1,244, USC 1,245, Arizona 1,248, Stanford 1,259, Oregon 1,313, Washington State 1,348 and Oregon State 1,440. California did not compete.
