SPOTLIGHT: HUNTINGTON CITY BEACH

Description: This sandy beach is the site of international surfing competitions. Recreational surfing is allowed in the morning or on uncrowded days only.
Facilities: Restrooms, firepits and volleyball courts provided. Lifeguards on duty all year. R.V. camping available Sept. 15 through May 31. The Huntington Beach Pier, built in 1914 and battered by storms in recent years, is at the north end of the beach.
Parking: Entrance is off Pacific Coast Highway opposite Lake Avenue.
