Local News in Brief : Dial-a-Ride Service Fare Cut
To increase business for its 24-hour dial-a-ride taxicab service, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Transportation Authority has announced a 50-cent fare reduction beginning Sept. 1. The fare for a 4-mile trip, now $1.50, will be $1. Trips exceeding four miles to any medical facility within the area cost $2. The service is for senior citizens and handicapped residents of Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates and county portions of the peninsula. The number to call is 519-0943.
