Comedian Bill McCuddy has apologized for any offense arising from his ditty “Don’t Worry, Be JAPPY”--a take-off on Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” that lampoons certain Jewish women--recently broadcast on a Baltimore radio station. After hearing about the complaints, McCuddy said he would stop performing the song in radio appearances or in his nightclub act. And “Saturday Night Live’s” Al Franken--who is Jewish--has been criticized by an official of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith after writing an “SNL” segment called “Jew/Not a Jew.” The sketch, which aired Oct. 8, consisted of a mock game show that challenged contestants to guess whether certain celebrities were Jewish. Franken said of the sketch, “This is what my family did . . . we’d watch TV (and) guess whether the actor was Jewish.”
