The Houston Oilers and Cleveland Browns are on defensive highs going into tonight’s game at the Astrodome.

The Browns played their best defensive game of the season last week in a 23-16 victory over Cincinnati.

The Oilers, trying to make the playoffs for the second straight season, also had their best performance in beating the Washington Redskins, 41-17.

The Browns are No. 2 in the National Football League in total defense and they are first in the league in pass defense.

Oiler quarterback Warren Moon has completed 5 of 23 passes in each of his past 2 games against the Browns and has thrown 7 interceptions.

But the Oiler defense has played well against the Browns and quarterback Bernie Kosar.

Moon and Kosar are rounding back into shape after each spent time on the injured list.

Both teams are 6-3 in the AFC’s Central Division.
