Floyd Helps Rockets Beat Hawks, 117-113
Eric (Sleepy) Floyd scored 5 of his 20 points in the final 2:20 as the Houston Rockets defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 117-113, Monday night.
Atlanta tied the score, 93-93, on a free throw by Cliff Levingston, but Houston went on a 17-6 surge for a 110-99 lead with 3:22 left.
The Hawks went on a 12-3 run, including 9 points by Reggie Theus, to make it 113-111 with 19 seconds left before Floyd and Allen Leavell made 2 free throws each.
Akeem Olajuwon had 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets.
Dominique Wilkins scored 29 points for Atlanta.
