Sylmar 29, North Hollywood 22--Tailback Jerome Casey, who earlier had given Sylmar the lead with an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, repeated the feat for 80 yards and a score with 2:33 to play as the Spartans (7-2, 4-2) avoided the upset at North Hollywood.

Casey’s deciding touchdown came seconds after North Hollywood tailback Maurice McFarland’s 12-yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion pass from Chris Carrillo to James Livingston had given the Huskies (2-7, 2-4) their only lead at 22-21. McFarland’s run capped a 13-play, 85-yard drive.
