UC Santa Barbara Routs Fresno State

Gary Gray scored 18 points to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 78-57 Big West Conference basketball victory over Fresno State Saturday night at Goleta.

Eric McArthur added 15 points and grabbed 20 rebounds for the Gauchos (14-5 overall, 8-3 in the Big West.)

Tod Bernard scored 15 points for Fresno State (8-11, 3-7).

Santa Barbara led, 37-28, at the half, but the Bulldogs scored the first four points of the second half to make it 37-32 with 18:34 left.

But Fresno State was held scoreless for the next 3:06 while the Gauchos scored 17 points in a row. The Gauchos built their largest lead, 54-37, with 10:06 left to play when Carrick DeHart scored on a layup.
