THE SIDELINES : Douglas-Holyfield Heavyweight Title Fight Delayed Till Oct. 25
The title fight between heavyweight champion James (Buster) Douglas and Evander Holyfield has been moved from Sept. 21 to Oct. 25, Douglas’ manager said today.
John Johnson said he was told of the change by promoter Steve Wynn, who owns the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where the fight will be held.
Johnson said the change gives Douglas more time to train and Wynn more time to promote the fight.
The manager said Douglas’ training has been hindered by respiratory problems and his recent court battle with promoter Don King.
