South Pasadena 20, Bell-Jeff 12--A Bell-Jeff rally in the fourth quarter fell short as the Guards lost at Burroughs High. South Pasadena running back Greg Pierce rushed for 116 yards in 11 carries and scored twice.
Trailing, 20-0, Bell-Jeff (0-5) scored on the first play of the fourth quarter on a three-yard run by Greg Cervantes.
Senior quarterback Anthony Pawluc engineered a nine-play, 95-yard drive that was capped by a seven-yard scoring pass to Alfred Silva.
