South Pasadena : Wanted: Sales Tax Revenue
To increase sales tax revenues, estimated at $1.2 million for the 1990-91 fiscal year, the City Council last week hired an auditing consultant to uncover reporting errors by companies doing business in the city.
The council unanimously approved a one-year contract with Hinderliter, de Llamas & Associates of Glendora. The firm, which contracts with 98 cities statewide, will receive $300 per month and 15% of any new sales tax generated.
Partner Lloyd de Llamas told the council that the average increase in sales tax revenues gained through his firm’s investigations is about 1%.
Resident Robert Wagner objected that South Pasadena “has been consulted to death.”
