SANTA ANA : Man Is Fatally Shot Outside Apartments
A 27-year-old man was fatally wounded Monday in a shooting outside an apartment complex downtown, authorities said.
Police Sgt. Dave Nick said the man died of multiple gunshot wounds at UCI Medical Center in Orange about an hour after the 2:05 p.m. shooting. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of relatives. He was thought to have been a resident of Anaheim.
Nick said the homicide, the second in Santa Ana over the weekend, did not appear to be connected with gang activity.
