Results of a treadmill test taken by pitcher Fernando Valenzuela Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange are being evaluated, and a determination on his status will be made next week.

An abnormal cardiogram led to an angiogram being performed on Valenzuela last week. It showed that crimping of an artery leading to Valenzuela’s heart caused a blood-flow problem detected on earlier tests. Valenzuela was put on the disabled list June 13.

Reliever Mark Eichhorn walked pinch-hitter Jim Eisenreich in the ninth inning Wednesday, ending his streak at 168 batters without a walk. . . . Research shows that Dave Winfield became the oldest player to hit for the cycle when he did it Monday at 39 years, eight months 21 days. Cy Williams was 38 days younger when he hit for the cycle for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1927.
