Five people were killed and at least five others were injured in a collision involving a motorcycle, a car and two trucks, authorities said. Wreckage from the Thursday night crash was scattered for a quarter mile along the Ramona Expressway in rural Riverside County, said California Highway Patrol dispatcher Bob Neeley. The accident occurred about five miles east of Lake Perris, he said. The injured were taken to Hemet Valley Medical Center, Loma Linda University Medical Center and Riverside Community Hospital. Three of the injured were airlifted to Loma Linda, said a nursing supervisor who declined to give her name. Two were listed in critical condition and the third in serious condition, she said. The names of the injured or killed were not immediately released. A section of the expressway remained closed Friday while CHP officers investigated the cause of the accident, Neeley said.
