SIMI VALLEY : Schools Group Asks for Business Aid

Share

The alliance of business and education will be the focus when the Simi Valley Education Foundation holds its kickoff fund-raiser at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in Simi Valley.

The foundation was established last year to raise funds for school programs that have no other means of financial support. Foundation President Pat Alley called the Aug. 5 event a coming-out party that will let businesses and the community know about the group.

“The evening will try to put corporate businesses in this area and the education foundation together,” Alley said. “We want to promote communication from the corporate world so we can understand what their needs are for entry-level workers.”

Alley said the foundation will help begin programs to prepare students to enter the work force.

Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) will discuss education on the national level after the dinner, to be held at the Clarion hotel, 1775 Madera Road. Tickets to the event, at $50 each, can be purchased by calling 526-4425.
