Rock and Roll Is Here to Stay: David Bowie, Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience are among the 15 nominees in this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame competition. The others are Bobby (Blue) Bland, Booker T. and the MGs, the Buffalo Springfield, Johnny Cash, Duane Eddy, the Isley Brothers, Etta James, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, Gene Pitney, Sam & Dave, the Velvet Underground and the Yardbirds. Ballots will be mailed today to about 600 music experts whose votes will determine who will be inducted in January.
