Man Wounded in Drive-By Shooting
A 26-year-old San Diego man was shot once in the chest in what police described as a drive-by shooting early Saturday morning.
The victim, identified by police as Armondo Vallejo and by hospital officials as Antonio Bellego, was termed in good condition Saturday at the UC San Diego Medical Center.
A San Diego Police Department spokesman said the victim was standing next to his mother outside of an apartment complex in the 2900 block of L Street at 2:17 a.m. Saturday when, according to other witnesses, a sedan drove by and several shots were fired.
No one else was injured, and police said there are no suspects.
