PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Humphrey Back With Broncos
Running back Bobby Humphrey returned to the Denver Broncos on Thursday after a one-day excused absence, apparently determined to battle through what has been a frustrating season for him.
Humphrey missed Wednesday’s practice after informing Coach Dan Reeves he was considering quitting the team.
After pondering his future, he was back 24 hours later, and he practiced with the team Thursday, although Reeves said Humphrey probably would miss Sunday’s game at Seattle.
The Minnesota Vikings provided voluntary AIDS testing for players and staff this week.
“Voluntary isn’t even the right word,” Viking trainer Fred Zamberletti said. “It was a service that was provided by the organization because of player inquiry. It was more of a benefit. It wasn’t something we suggested they do.”
