Stuff about UCLA, USC and the basketball rivalry that resumes tonight at Pauley Pavilion:

The Bruins have won 10 NCAA championships. . . .

My all-time UCLA team: Lew Alcindor, Bill Walton, Sidney Wicks, Walt Hazzard, Gail Goodrich. . . .

On Dec. 3, 1966, Bob Boyd coached his first game for USC. The Trojans lost, 105-90, to UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. Playing his first varsity game for the Bruins that night was a sophomore center named Lew Alcindor, who became Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. . . .

Alcindor scored 56 points and got 21 rebounds. . . .

Times staff writer Jeff Prugh wrote: “Lew Alcindor, still a growing 19-year-old sophomore who stands 7 feet 1 3/8 inches but resembles a high-rise building on a basketball floor, wrapped a remarkably good USC team around his little finger. And if he’s not careful, he will have the whole college basketball world in his hands before he is finished.” . . .

USC has played home games at the Olympic Auditorium, Shrine Auditorium, north campus gym, Long Beach City College, Cal State Los Angeles, Long Beach Arena, Loyola University Gym, Gersten Pavilion, Pan-Pacific Auditorium, Pauley Pavilion, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Lyon Center, Forum and Sports Arena. . . .

UCLA has played home games at the campus men’s gym, Olympic Auditorium, Shrine Auditorium, Venice High School, Long Beach City College, Santa Monica City College, Pan-Pacific Auditorium, Sports Arena and Pauley Pavilion. . . .

Gene Bartow had a higher career winning percentage at UCLA than John Wooden. . . .

USC Coach George Raveling on this season’s Bruins: “I think they’re a Final Four team. They don’t have any obvious weaknesses.” . . .

UCLA Coach Jim Harrick on the Trojans: “They’re the quickest, most athletic team in the conference. Over the last few years, this has been a very competitive rivalry.” . . .

All 12,800 tickets for tonight’s game have been sold. . . .

Among the arguments for juniors Harold Miner of USC and Tracy Murray of UCLA returning as seniors is that the NBA draft figures to be much stronger this year than next. They could improve their reputations and command higher salaries by playing another collegiate season. . . .

Bill Sharman ranks fourth on the NBA’s all-time free-throw percentage list behind Rick Barry, Calvin Murphy and Larry Bird and second on the all-time USC list behind Dan Anderson. . . .

The Trojans were ranked No. 1 in the nation and the Bruins No. 2 before their game on Feb. 6, 1971, at the Sports Arena. UCLA won, 64-60, leaving both teams with 16-1 records. . . .

Former Bruins now in the NBA are Mark Eaton, Jack Haley, Reggie Miller, Keith Owens, Pooh Richardson and Kiki Vandeweghe. . . .

Robert Pack is the only former Trojan currently in the NBA. . . .

Don MacLean is on a pace to become the first player to lead UCLA in scoring four consecutive seasons. . . .

UCLA leads the series, 103-88. The Bruins have won 51 of the last 62 games, but the schools have split the last four. Longest winning streak in the series was 42 games by USC in 1932-43. . . .
