Killing of Teen-Ager Called Gang-Related
A 14-year-old boy died after being shot in his face, back and legs in a gang-related shooting in Southeast San Diego, police said Thursday.
Jose Aguilar and three friends were challenged about 11 p.m. Thursday by two men who asked them their gang affiliation, Police Lt. Paul Ybarrondo said. After Aguilar and his friends responded, the men chased them.
Aguilar’s three friends escaped, but he didn’t, Ybarrondo said.
Aguilar’s body was discovered under a car parked in a north alley in the 3400 block of National Avenue. He was shot at least four times and he had apparently crawled under the car to hide from his assailants, Ybarrondo said.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
