Let’s Make a Deal: Actress Tia Carrere, currently on screen in the hit comedy “Wayne’s World,” will join Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes to star in the film version of Michael Crichton’s best seller “Rising Sun.” The 20th Century Fox movie begins shooting in July. Carrere also has just signed an exclusive recording contract with Warner Bros. Records. . . . Filmmakers Nancy Meyers and Charles Shyer will make a sequel to last year’s “Father of the Bride” movie as part of a new two-picture deal with Touchstone Pictures. The sequel will be loosely based on “Father’s Little Dividend,” the 1951 sequel to the original “Father of the Bride” that starred Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor.
