Czechoslovakia’s Karel Novacek won the $250,000 Dutch Open at Hilversum, Netherlands, by beating Jordi Arrese of Spain, 6-2, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, in a 2-hour 40-minute match.
Novacek, ranked 23rd in the world, was seeded third in this tournament. Arrese was seeded second.
