Delta to Close 8 Reservations Offices: Delta Air Lines said it will close eight of its 19 U.S. reservations offices, relocating 1,500 permanent employees. Delta reservations centers in Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Fla., Knoxville and Memphis, Tenn., New Orleans, San Francisco and Seattle will be closed between June, 1993, and fall, 1994. The permanent employees affected by the closings will be guaranteed positions in other Delta reservations centers and will be relocated at company expense, the airlines said. Centers in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and Tampa, Fla., New York, Salt Lake City and Washington will remain open. The consolidation will save the company $24 million a year, Delta said.
