‘King of the Minors’ Stan Wasiak Dies at 72

Stan Wasiak, the winningest manager in minor league history, has died at age 72. Wasiak died after a long illness at his home in Mobile, Ala.

He was the first manager of the Dodgers’ Class-A team in Vero Beach, Fla., from 1980 through his retirement in 1986. Known as the “King of the Minors,” Wasiak set an all-time minor league record with 2,570 career victories in 37 consecutive seasons of managing, also an all-time record.
