Soccer
Midfielder Cindy Daws of Northridge will travel to Copenhagen with the United States under-20 women’s national soccer team for the Nordic Cup from Aug. 3-7.
The U.S. team opens play against Sweden. Also entered are teams from Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway.
Baseball
Eight teams will play in the Pony Baseball Pinto Division World Series Saturday through Aug. 8 at the Mid-Valley Pony complex in Encino.
Teams in the double-elimination tournament for 7- and 8-year-olds are defending champion Agoura, Charter Oak, Gibson Park, Mira Costa, Palmdale, West Covina, Whittier and Mid-Valley.
