Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Woman’s Death Declared Homicide
After declaring that the death of a 33-year-old woman from a mysterious explosion here last week was a homicide and not an accident, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies Thursday asked for the public’s help in solving the case.
Lynn Standish of Pearblossom died, and her 4-year-old son, Michael Hepburn, was seriously injured May 20, when something exploded as they looked for collectibles and recyclables in the desert near 106th Street East and Avenue V.
Investigators “have determined that it was a homicide and not an accident,” Sgt. Ron Spear said. But investigators did not say how they had reached that conclusion, Spear said.
