BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Dawson Has Knee Surgery a 10th Time
Boston designated hitter Andre Dawson had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee and is expected to be sidelined about three to four weeks. Team physician Arthur Pappas said he repaired cartilage on the inside and outside of the knee and that the operation at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester went well. It was the 10th time Dawson, 39, has had knee surgery. Dawson’s knee locked up while he was running out a grounder Tuesday night against Cleveland. . . . Colorado pitcher Armando Reynoso had elbow surgery and is expected to resume throwing in about four months.
