A summary of selected City Hall actions last week that affect the Westside. : CITY COUNCIL

* VENICE SEWER--Approved construction of a new sewer line along Lincoln Boulevard in Venice from Milwood Avenue to Venice Boulevard. An environmental report concluded that the project will have unavoidable adverse effects on local noise levels, but that the new sewer is needed because usage of the current system exceeds design capabilities. The $1-million project is scheduled to begin in August and be completed by February.

* RESTAURANT RELOCATION--Approved a request by the Community Redevelopment Agency for $529,000 to relocate Rusty’s Hacienda Restaurant from 1331 S. Boyd Street in Boyle Heights to 1716 N. Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood to make room for Rio Vista Village, a 75-unit housing development. State law requires the CRA to provide relocation assistance to businesses displaced by its projects.

* REWARD OFFER--Approved offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two people who forced their way into a residence at 800 S. Norton Ave. in the Wilshire area on May 29 and raped and robbed the five women living there. Friends of the victims say they plan to match the council’s reward.

HOW THEY VOTED

* GOLFING FEES--Approved raising the green fees at city golf courses to $16 from $15 during the week and to $19.50 from $18.50 on weekends. The $1 increase overrides the Board of Recreation and Parks action to raise the fees $1.50 for most golfers while lowering the fees for seniors and youths under 17 years of age by 50 cents. A decision by the council regarding the fees for seniors and youths was delayed. Passed 12-2.
