OUTLOOK

Brito and Cleave, the leading rusher last year, give the team a good running attack to complement Wheeler’s passing game. Wheeler, who was 108 of 236 for 1,134 yards and seven touchdowns last season, will need to provide more punch if the Centurions expect to challenge for a playoff spot. His main targets will be Huskey and Leggett. Brito, who had 73 tackles last season, is the top defender and should get help from Flanagan, defensive tackle Sam Serrano, linemen Matt Boynton and Headley. The secondary is one of the team’s strengths. The Centurions’ overall experience and its beefed-up offensive line, anchored by Steenbergen, Park and Glaser, should help in their run for the playoffs. “We’re anxious to find out what we can do,” Selbe said. “It looks like Kennedy and El Dorado are the favorites. . . . We’ll probably battle for third.”
