HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Hawkins’ Two Touchdowns Pace Nordhoff’s 18-7 Victory

Nordhoff High’s backfield duo of Josh Hawkins and Dallan Rigby combined for 125 yards in an 18-7 nonleague victory Thursday night over St. Bonaventure at Ventura High.

Hawkins rushed for 79 yards in 16 carries and scored on runs of one and eight yards. Rigby rushed for 59 yards in 12 carries and had a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, bringing Nordhoff (3-0) within a point of St. Bonaventure.

Topi Sanchez gained 79 yards in 25 carries, and Steve Ruelas had 96 yards in 16 carries for St. Bonaventure, but the Seraphs only scored on their opening drive--Sanchez’s one-yard run capping a 69-yard advance.
