A GREEN GRANT: Students on Palos Verdes Peninsula will be walking in the woods when the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy starts an educational program to increase awareness of the natural habitats there.
The nonprofit organization, which seeks to preserve undeveloped land on the peninsula, recently received a $2,500 grant from a local philanthropic organization to fund the program. Conservationists plan to hire an educator and naturalist this fall to develop a curriculum for students in grades four through six.
