Robitaille Is King Against the Kings
Luc Robitaille haunted his old team with a goal and an assist and Mike Richter stopped 27 shots as the Kings fell to the New York Rangers, 4-0, in an exhibition game at the Forum.
The Rangers scored three power-play goals. Pat Verbeek opened the scoring midway through the first period and Robitaille and Niklas Sundstrom netted power-play goals in the second.
Lee Sorochan scored New York’s final goal.
Richter stopped 20 shots over the final two periods in a game featuring 45 penalties, 34 of which came in the last two periods.
Byron Dafoe and Fredrick Beaubien were in goal for the Kings.
