Thousand Oaks 30, Simi Valley 14--Eric Allen caught touchdown passes of 40 and 33 yards from Scott McEwan for Thousand Oaks (5-1, 3-0) at home.

McEwan opened the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown run on the Lancers’ first drive. After Allen’s first scoring reception gave Thousand Oaks a 14-7 lead, defensive end John Medina caused a Pioneer fumble which teammate Chance Redmond recovered on the Simi Valley 14. Three plays later, Brandon Jackson bowled over from the one.

Jackson, the Marmonte League’s leading rusher, had to work hard for his yardage, gaining 79 in 24 carries.

Simi Valley scored two second-quarter touchdowns. Al Broyles returned a fumble 12 yards for one score and Toby Johnston recovered a fumble in the end zone for another.
