COLLEGE FOOTBALL : Van Dyke Sets Receiving Mark
Alex Van Dyke set an NCAA record for most receiving yards in a season, catching 13 passes for 314 yards as Nevada beat San Jose State, 45-28, Saturday in a Big West game.
Van Dyke raised his total to 1,874 yards, surpassing the record of 1,779 set in 1965 by Howard Twilley of Tulsa. Van Dyke scored on passes of 69, 66, and 82 yards and threw a touchdown pass of 35 yards.
The Wolf Pack (9-2, 6-0) will play Toledo in the Las Vegas Bowl.
